About the tour
The aim of the tour is to develop the student’s ability in public speaking and to gain skills in debating while participating in an exciting range of educational activities that explore the UK’s history, culture and language, together with theatre and performing arts workshops.
The Debating & Public Speaking summer camp is held at Imperial College London. The programme enables students to develop their debating and public speaking skills in a fun, engaging environment. Each lesson is creatively designed to teach students how to practice and apply a range of techniques aimed at developing their debating skills and building confidence in their public speaking through experience and applied techniques.
Working in their groups, students will apply problem-solving skills to identify solutions and consolidate fundamental principles of debating and public speaking. This includes applying effective critical thinking,
elaborating an argument, putting forward an argument, debating, negotiating and de-constructing an opposition argument, while developing dialogue, conversational skills and persuasive techniques, to name a few.
